Have you heard of the phrase “comparison is the thief of joy”? It is said so because when we compare our lives with others’ lives, we are focusing on the lack of something. In all fairness, each of us always has something that others are usually praying for. It is always good to accept that what we have is all we need to get all we want. Start from scratch, start from the very basics and take the tiniest step and see how miracles follow you.
This is not something that happens overnight, thus, remember to be patient with yourself and not lose hope or give up halfway because you are destined to live at your best always. Read along to know of a few things you could incorporate into your daily life to achieve your best version.
Visualize The Life You Want to Create
Have answers to who you want to become, as in, who is the best version of yourself? Is she independent, rich, soft-hearted, loving, etc.? The best course of action is to take the time to put these things in writing and store them somewhere you can access them at least once every week. This will serve as a helpful reminder of your goals and also let you know that you have the potential to be who you want to be.
Making these things a priority will help you to be the best version of yourself. It’s excellent that you have a long list of things to do. Try to pick one at a time to intentionally work on, though.
Don’t Run Away From Your Goals
Start with the ones you are sure you can accomplish to boost your confidence. You will get closer to discovering your best self with each new habit you include in your newly designed lifestyle.
With each accomplishment, you will gather momentum that will spur you on to the next one. By the time you accomplish the goals that might take weeks, months or even years to implement, you’ll be so motivated and full of fresh knowledge that you’ll have no trouble tackling your goals and obstacles in life.
Love and Forgive Yourself
You must give yourself a certain level of love that you have probably never known before if you want to be your best self and challenge the current you. You must fully accept where you are right now, without condemnation or criticism.
Because you are confident in your ability to love yourself, you will be able to move outside of your comfort zone without worrying about being rejected or failing. If you take one or two steps back, catch yourself, figure out what went wrong, tell yourself something encouraging, and take those steps forward again.
Most importantly, do not back down from the criticism of others, and do not seek external validation or approval because at the end of the day, only you know yourself best.
In order to feel good and live your life on your terms, you will need to become your best friend as you discover how to be the finest version of yourself. Lastly, forgive yourself for not knowing better.
Faith Over Fear
All your efforts will go in vain if you do not believe in yourself and have faith that you will be the best version of yourself. This is not a simple task and the journey is definitely not going to be easy but it most certainly will be worth it. To enable yourself to get up every time you fall, you need to see fear in its eyes and know where your faith lies.
Another form of laziness is procrastination. People who procrastinate prevent themselves from becoming their best selves. Procrastinators become distracted by unimportant things that ultimately lead to the failure of their objectives. Y
our eyes need to be set on your goal and for that, you will be required to make short-term sacrifices for long-term accomplishments.
It is important to stop procrastinating, take deliberate, planned action, establish some sort of accountability and set short, doable, and straightforward goals.
Don’t Be a People’s Pleaser
At some point, you just have to say enough is enough! Take a stand for yourself, be confident in who you are and believe in your goals and yourself. There is nothing that needs you to seek other people’s approval or please them.
What makes sense to you may not make sense to others but that does not mean that you sway from your own goals. As selfish as it might sound, you have to look out for yourself and become a doormat.
Stop Judging Others
As mentioned before, this is your journey and your goals. What others do, what they achieve and how they live is not something that should be your concern. Hence, do not let yourself get distracted or perturbed by others’ actions.
You need to get rid of all bad energy if you want to be the best version of yourself. When you direct negative energy at someone, you run the risk of undermining that person’s sense of value and self-worth.
Additionally, you are releasing enormous amounts of unfavorable energy into the universe. In fact, if anything, be a part of their success and encourage them but don’t be the one to let anyone down.
You’ll get one step closer to discovering how to be your greatest self once you’ve achieved each goal and put it into practice in many facets of your life. Each triumph will serve as a reminder of a choice you made, a strategy you implemented, and the improvement of yourself. With each triumph, you’ll feel better about yourself, and you’ll find it much simpler to move on to the next objective when you pick up new skills or develop your focus.
