ToggleWhat was Intel’s AI Product Launch About?
According to Denis Gaudreault, country manager for Intel Canada, a major product launch by Intel Corp. indicated that the organization is obviously on the ascent, and his expectation is that “people will write books on our turnaround” in a couple of years.
The launch has gotten positive feedback from both corporate and channel clients, who “have been telling us, we need you back like you used to be with better execution and more predictability on your roadmap.”
Gaudreault called the many statements made during the AI Everywhere event in New York City the “turning point in our new strategy.”
How is Intel on the rise? A glimpse into Intel’s vision of the future!
Meteor Lake is the codename for the Intel Core Ultra mobile CPU family, which Intel describes as “the first built on Intel 4 process technology and the first to benefit from the company’s largest architectural shift in 40 years.” It’s been described as “Intel’s most power-saving client processor and ushers in the age of the AI PC.”
The 5th Generation Intel Xeon processor series is designed with AI acceleration in “every core, bringing leaps in AI and performance as a whole and lowering total cost of ownership (TCO).”
Pat Gelsinger, the company’s CEO, demonstrated for the first time an Intel Gaudi3 AI accelerator, which he claims will be available next year.
“AI innovation has the potential to increase the digital economy’s impact to as much as one-third of global GDP,” Gelsinger said in a statement. “Intel is developing technologies and solutions that will enable customers to seamlessly integrate and run AI in all of their applications – in the cloud and, progressively, regionally at the PC and edge, where data is produced and used.”
The AI PC, which is planned to be offered in 230 designs from laptop and PC makers globally, was hailed by the firm as the most significant overhaul of the PC experience in 20 years since Intel Centrino emancipated computers to connect to Wi-Fi from anywhere.
Intel Core Ultra is the finest AI-capable and power-efficient client processor in Intel history, with specialized AI acceleration capability spread throughout the central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), and neural processing unit (NPU). This is no less than a driving force of silicon: a trillion-dollar market by the end of the decade, with AI only accelerating this growth into the future.
When we think of artificial intelligence as something complex, something we may not comprehend or control, we believe we are doing it a disservice.
The goal of such innovation is to incorporate it into our human life, into human intelligence, to make it a part of us and all we do. And hence, the opportunity for AI – augmented intelligence – is to bring this value into the human experience.”
Conclusion
According to the press release, Intel Core Ultra and 5th Generation Xeon processors will “find their way into places you might not expect.” Consider a restaurant that leads your menu selections depending on your budget and dietary demands; a production floor that detects quality and safety issues at the source; an ultrasound that detects what human eyes may miss; and a power grid that handles electricity with precision.”
No details were disclosed for the upcoming Gaudi3, which is slated to compete with AMD’s M1300 and NVDIA’s H100, according to a published article. It was, however, characterized as “out of fab, in the lab, being powered on, and looking healthy.”
