Did you know that the emotions you feel in your day-to-day life can leave huge impacts on your health? The way you feel/the way you let yourself feel affects your health directly. There is a direct relation between your mind and your physical health.
We tend to make this mistake and believe that mental health and physical health are two different routes, but that is certainly not true. Both of them are highly dependent on each other.
In our culture, our society simply marks the emotions which gender is allowed to feel and which not. For instance, if a girl is crying, she will be given care and concern.
On the other hand, if a guy cries in a tough situation, he is told statements like “Are you weak?”, “Why are you crying like a little girl?”. This is where things go wrong. W
e forget that every human is allowed to express what they feel irrespective of their gender. This not only makes it difficult for men to speak up but also forces girls to keep shut because of the stereotype.
It’s always the subtle and small statements that stay in someone’s and later cause them issues so make sure you think before you speak, make sure you are never the reason someone undergoes trauma.
There are several ways to see how our emotions can affect our health, a few of them are

ToggleNegative emotions can lead to Damage to the Immune system
Did you know that when you feel angry, frustrated or sad (any negative emotion) you are damaging your health severely? Well yes, that’s true!
Whenever one feels a negative emotion, they generate a feeling of helplessness which then leads to stress at a chronic level. This further creates a bodily hormonal imbalance. There is a shortage of the hormone that makes us happy (serotonin), which makes our immune system weak.
So make sure whenever you are sad or feel any emotion, just express it. Don’t hide what you feel, just vent it out and move on.
Positive emotions help you heel
Whenever a person is happy, he/she is automatically giving their body a huge reason to stay healthy. When a person feels positive and happy in general, their blood pressure normalizes and also helps to stave off excessive body fat.
Do you realize how good it can do to you if you not just pretend to be happy because of your surroundings but actually be happy for yourself? A happy person has half the chance of getting cardiovascular disease as compared a non-happy person, so choose your emotions wisely my friend.
Effects Of Eating Patterns
Do you have a friend who eats a lot under stress or is highly sad? That is a very common way to overcome your emotions. According to research, it’s seen that people tend to change their eating patterns under different emotional conditions. Some might eat a lot, some might not eat at all. That is why the trend of “comforting food” is highly seen now, people try to eat and get their emotions under control.
Everyone has their own coping mechanism with emotions, so if you are one of them who is affected like this or if you know someone who goes through a hard time with several emotions, the best you can do is be patient and understand them.
Never make anyone feel that whatever they are going through is “invalid” or “extreme”. Everybody is different and we need to be supportive of that.
Be your own friend
There are times when our friend comes to us with a problem, he/she is sad and can’t find a solution. What do we do in such a situation? We listen to them peacefully, try to understand them, and give them time to overcome that. We don’t blame them for their problems. But when it comes to ourselves we certainly forget the protocol.
It is necessary to understand your pain too and give yourself time to overcome it. The more you pile up, the more issues you create for the “future you” and we don’t want that, do we? Be your own friend and give yourself the same liberty you would give to others in harsh conditions.
Once you take your time and rationalize your situations, find your own happiness because the harsh truth is that it’s you who is responsible to make yourself happy and no one else. Hold on to your roots and climb as high you can/ as high as you want.
Hold on to the people you love and most importantly, hold on to yourself the same way. Make your routes. If necessary pick up a paper and create a “pros and cons list”, clear things for yourself and walk the path, the path that makes you your Ideal self because that will make you the happiest person.
