Starbucks provides beta testers with coffee-themed NFTs on Polygon
The first group of US beta testers for Starbucks Odyssey, a blockchain-based loyalty program, was announced by the worldwide chain of coffee shops.
The initiative comprises NFTs with a coffee theme that is related to actual experiences and is an expansion of the business’s current Starbucks Rewards program.
By establishing the Starbucks Odyssey initiative earlier this year, the organization made it clear that it intended to join the NFT and Web3 bandwagons.
Customers have the opportunity to participate in “journeys,” or activities, as part of the program, which is currently live. Members may earn NFTs this way. Starbucks Odyssey was founded on Polygon and is currently only available to beta testers in the United States.
The “Journeys” inform customers about coffee as well as the company’s history while promoting the Starbucks brand. They consist of a variety of tasks, including solving puzzles, viewing films, and taking tests.
According to the international coffee shop business, “Starbucks Odyssey members may earn and buy digital collectable stamps (NFTs), accruing Odyssey Points that open access to special deals, immersive incentives, and one-of-a-kind Starbucks designs that aren’t available anywhere else.”
Starbucks has a history in the cryptocurrency space. The business partnered with Bakkt to make it possible for its clients to pay using BTC. Gavin Michael, the CEO of Bakkt, outlined the benefits of the app.
The typical consumer owns a variety of digital assets, including bitcoin, gift cards, and loyalty points, but lacks the tools necessary to effectively manage and use their value. As the first step in our mission to increase everyone’s access to digital assets, we are overjoyed to release the Bakkt application to the general public.
